Interview with Christine Pinède, QSE Coordinator

Interview with Christine Pinède, QSE Coordinator

What is your background and how long have you been working at ATALIAN as a QSE Coordinator?

At 48, I have had two professional lives. My basic profession is executive assistant, which I practised for more than 20 years in various economic sectors (from tourism to cleaning).
Then it was a contact, exchanges and a meeting with an occupational doctor that triggered, as if it were obvious, my professional reconversion. As my career change meant competence and above all credibility, I had to react quickly and get out of the game surrounded by young QSE graduates.
I thus obtained my Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety in evening classes. And in 2017, I was recruited by ATALIAN as a QSE coordinator.

What are your missions for the Group?

As a QSE coordinator, I work with men and women in the field on a daily basis on Quality, Safety and Environment issues. In my opinion, the field is the very essence of the QSE coordinator’s job. In the same way as a GO at a certain holiday club, it is up to us QSEs to go and find the employees and get them to think about their work situations. Prevention is very often subjected to and considered as a constraint. To this, I reply that prevention means doing the same professional action … differently.
I love my job. I am a #mobilisedpreventer! When I am in the field with our agents, I know why I chose the job of prevention officer. I like to listen to them, share their experience, their feelings, give them the opportunity to speak freely and try to answer their questions as precisely as possible.
I am a ‘fan’ of the ‘live my life’ concept because nothing can be more telling, in terms of occupational risks, than to live the daily life of employees, whatever the sector of activity. A few hours in a colleague’s shoes are sometimes enough to share their love of the job, to understand the challenges of their position, and even the physical pain and/or psychological suffering that a work environment can cause.

Why is Occupational Health and Safety important to you?

The health of a company depends on the health of its employees and managers. A happy employee will be an efficient and productive employee. In this sense, people are at the heart of work and the company has everything to gain by looking after the health and safety of its employees.
Personally, I have not forgotten that without our service agents, I would not have a place at ATALIAN. ATALIAN, like everyone else, has the extraordinary power to influence the future through prevention. It’s a win-win situation, who could say better?
